Michael and Janell Baca are the owners of Casa de Baca Studios and share a passion for creating meaningful images that tell a story.
An Arizona native, Michael discovered photography in high school and has worked professionally since around 2010, specializing in portraits and landscapes. Inspired by the history and character of downtown Florence, he opened his fine art gallery in 2018. Today, the gallery represents the work of more than 30 talented local artists.
Janell grew up in Wisconsin and has called Arizona home since 2004. She developed her love of photography as a teenager and began her professional career in 2018. She enjoys photographing a wide variety of subjects and finds endless inspiration in Arizona’s landscapes, wildlife, and dramatic skies.
When they’re not in the studio, you’ll often find them exploring back roads, traveling, or chasing Arizona’s summer monsoons in search of unforgettable light and weather. Michael especially enjoys photographing high school seniors, creating portraits that reflect each student’s personality, interests, and achievements. Whether capturing families, couples, children, pets, or the beauty of the Southwest, Michael and Janell believe the best photographs are the ones that preserve genuine moments and become lasting memories.
